The annual “Kindergarten Round-up” welcomed a class full of incoming kindergarteners on Friday, April 4 at the Century School in Park Rapids. The event saw next year’s incoming kindergarteners, or the class of 2027, come to officially register for their first classes in the fall.

The students were then brought into a classroom that they may very well call their own next year. While getting used to the new environment, they also got used to each other.

During the time, parents were given a presentation by Principal Joleen DeLaHunt and other head staff members about what to expect in the upcoming year.

“Kindergarten Round-up is an exciting time. With it brings opportunity for parents and students to prepare for the school and learning experience. The kindergarten teachers enjoy meeting and working with next year’s students and the parents are afforded the opportunity to learn about procedures, routines, and expectations for their future kindergarten student,” said Superintendent Lance Bagstad.

“It’s going to be a good year, it’s looking like it will be a good turnout,” Sharon McFarron, Paraprofessional and Early Childhood specialist.
