Lake Park man sentenced to jail for recording minor in shower

A Lake Park man was sentenced late last week in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of interference with privacy.

Bradley James Steinbach, 41, of 7001 14th St. N., Lake Park, was ordered to serve 12 months and 1 day in prison, stayed on conditions including completion of 90 days in jail, payment of $1,085 in court fines and fees and up to four years of supervised probation. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, and to undergo a psychological sexual evaluation and follow all recommendations of the evaluation.

Steinbach was accused of taking video of a minor child while she was exiting the shower in her home on Sept. 25. According to the complaint filed by the girl's mother, with whom Steinbach had been living at the time, the teenage girl had found a cell phone camera hidden among some loose towels lying on the floor of the bathroom after she was finished taking her shower.

Footage taken from the cell phone camera reportedly showed Steinbach entering the bathroom while the girl was in the shower and positioning the recording device in such a way that it would take video of her exiting the shower.
