Passion for fashion behind Style by ME

Meg Isaacson, first place winner in M State's business plan competition, has opened Style by ME (Elizabeth her middle name) on Main. (Jean Ruzicka / Enterprise)

Meg Isaacson has put her high school business classes and enthusiasm for garage sales "to work."

At 18, Isaacson holds the distinction of being the youngest business owner on Main, opening Style By ME this fall.

The store, she explains, is for those who appreciate the cost savings of gently used clothes, but do not have the time or inclination to travel to rummage sale sites.

She motors off to Duluth, Fargo and the Twin Cities is search of haute couture -for kids, boys' and girls' junior clothing and women - along with shoes, purses, jewelry and other accessories.

Bright, vibrant colors characterize the store holding "stylish clothes that you wouldn't necessarily be able to find in a small town."

Isaacson looks for "trendy clothes that are fun to wear" when she heads off "to market."

And everything is organized by size and type on display racks in the four-room mercantile establishment.

New and handmade baby items - blankets, bibs and burp cloths - are also displayed.

Isaacson does not accept consigned items.

Style by ME, at 201 Main Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

She's planning to host a grand opening in the new year.
