Lakeside Christian Church honored members of the Park Rapids Fire Department, Hubbard First Response and Rescue, Hubbard County Sheriff's Department, Park Rapids Police Department, the Hubbard County Posse and North Memorial Ambulance at their 9/11 worship service. "Today we are honoring a special group of Hubbard County citizens," said Lakeside minister Dick Jorgensen, "who - whether paid or unpaid - give of themselves to ensure the safety and well-being of us all. They respond to human need at any time, any place and for anyone," Jorgensen continued. "And we here at Lakeside are grateful, and we honor you and thank you for your service." After Kin Kallestad, former fire chief of Stillwater and Lakeside member, brought the tribute of honor and appreciation from the congregation, each of the six first responder groups were prayed for by Lakeside members.
