The two occupants of a vehicle that collided with a van south of Dorset were airlifted Thursday evening to a Fargo hospital.

According to State Patrol officer Dion Pederson's report, Colleen M. Conley, 53, of Sebeka, Minn., was driving a 1992 Honda Accord north on County Road 11 when she failed to stop at a stop sign and broadsided a 1998 GMC Safari driven by Nancy J. Dero, 54, of Menahga, Minn., which was headed west on state Highway 87.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Accord - Rachel J. Faulk, 27, of Brainerd - suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Conley and Faulk were taken to Innovis Health in Fargo, N.D. Dero was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes.

Authorities were searching for a dog that was in the van.

The accident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 11 and Highway 87 southeast of Park Rapids.

Nevis firefighters and emergency responders, Hubbard County deputies, North Memorial Ambulance personnel, Park Rapids police, a DNR Conservation officer, Hubbard County Boat & Water Patrol and the Minnesota State Patrol officers responded to the crash, which backed traffic up on both highways for nearly an hour to allow the helicopters to land and emergency personnel to tend to the injured.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
