Long Lake Theater's 10th season to debut

Don't let the tiny village of Hubbard deceive you - it packs an artistic whollop!

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Long Lake Theater boasts two intimate, 100-seat theaters and delivers smash-hit comedies, drama and musicals throughout the year.

Beginning in June, the world-famous comedy "Arsenic and Old Lace" takes the stage. Hilarious complications ensue when Mortimer Brewster inadvertently discovers a secret his two sweet, spinster aunts have buried in their cellar. Performances are June 8 through July 2.

In July, "The Last Resort" offers music, comedy and mystery rolled into one!. A mob informant finds himself in the protective custody of an FBI agent at a run-down hotel in Saskatchewan, where everyone who checks in could be the hit man who wants him to check out...permanently. This witty whodunit appears on Long Lake Theater's main stage July 6-30.

"Brighton Beach Memoirs," by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Neil Simon, runs Aug. 3-27. Fourteen-year-old Eugene Morris Jerome thinks of little else but playing for the Yankees...and girls. His witty, perceptive commentary about his middle class family and their struggles make this journey through puberty poignant, insightful and delightful.

Show times for the family-friendly entertainment are 3 p.m. Wednesdays and 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

For reservations, visit Tickets are also available at Sister Wolf Books (Dorset) and Beagle Books (Park Rapids).

Ticket holders are invited to an opening performance gala to mingle with cast members and enjoy light refreshments. The galas will be held 5-7 p.m. (immediately following the opening performance) at the Jewel of the North Bed & Breakfast, located on Lower Twin Lake just a few miles from the theater.
