Callaway snowmobiler injured in Tuesday crash

A 20-year-old Callaway man was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary's with injuries from a snowmobile vs. truck accident Tuesday.

Travis Terrance Lanoue was crossing Highland Drive in Detroit Lakes when he was struck by a southbound pickup truck driven by Brian Cole Winter, 36, of Detroit Lakes.

Detroit Lakes Police Officer Brent Fulton said Lanoue was taken to the hospital and held overnight.

"He might have ridden on top of the hood for short ways before landing on the road," he said.

Winter was not injured in the accident that was reported at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted the DLPD at the scene.
