Authorities identify victims of Fosston pickup-semi crash

The Polk County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday released the names of two people who were killed Monday in a head-on collision with a semi 2 miles north of Fosston, Minn.

At 2:10 p.m., Donald Leslie Agar, 68, of Gully, and Alma Carleen Agar, 66, also of Gully, were northbound in a Chevy pickup on County Road 6 when their vehicle collided head-on with a southbound semi hauling beans to the Fosston Elevator.

Authorities said the road was snow-covered and slippery and visibility was less than a half mile at the time of the accident.

The crash caused the semi to jack-knife and slide into the east ditch, but the driver was uninjured.

The pickup came to rest on the edge of the road. The Agars were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident; they were wearing seat belts and the pickup's air bags deployed in the crash.

The sheriff's office is still investigating the accident.
