Suspect in burglaries gets 33 months

Michael Gene Moorhouse

A Park Rapids man will spend 33 months behind bars for a string of cabin burglaries committed last spring throughout Hubbard County.

Michael Moorhouse, 30, pleaded guilty last month to four counts of Second Degree Burglary in connection with the break-ins.

Moorhouse must also make restitution for all of the two dozen burglaries he and co-conspirator Mitchell Bugge, 38, were initially charged with.

Bugge was supposed to have been sentenced Monday, too, but he requested an early transfer to prison last month and was not transported from the St. Cloud facility he's incarcerated in.

He will be sentenced Oct. 18.

Moorhouse will only have to serve two-thirds of the sentence if he incurs no prison infractions. The remaining third of the sentence would be served under supervised monitoring
