Former Hubbard County commissioner Ed DeLaHunt files for seat in District 1; realtor running in District 3 withdraws candidacy

Former Hubbard County commissioner and perennial candidate Ed DeLaHunt filed for the District 1 Hubbard County commission seat Monday.

Nevis school board member Sherman Anderson filed for the seat Friday now occupied by Don Carlson, who is seeking a second term.

And candidate V.C. Sam Spaeth, who filed Friday for District 3 commission, said Monday he would not run after all for personal reasons. Former commissioner Floyd Frank is running against the man who defeated him in 2006, incumbent Greg Larson.

District 5 commissioner Cal Johannsen is running unopposed so far.

Hubbard County Sheriff Frank Homer is opposed by Sgt. Cory Aukes while Hubbard County Attorney Don Dearstyne is facing Perham attorney Nathaniel Welte.

Filing continues through June 1.

To date no candidates have filed for Hubbard County Soil and Water Conservation Districts 4 and 5.
