Gymnasts surpass season high

Kyja Penning won the all-around title in leading the Park Rapids gymnastics team to a 122.85 to 109.90 victory over Frazee Thursday night.

The Panthers used season-high marks of 33.75 in vault, 31.15 on balance beam and 30.60 in floor exercise for their highest team score of the season. Penning won the all-around title with a 32.75 while Emily Klingenberg was third with a 31.50 for their top scores of the season.

Leeza Tostenson scored four goals in leading the Park Rapids-Menahga-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley girls hockey team to a 9-1 win at Pequot Lakes Thursday night. The Panthers' home game against East Grand Forks on Saturday was postponed.

Pins by Ben Baumgartner, Adam Branstrom, Danny PIke, John Drury and Kenny Weaver led the Park Rapids wrestling team to a 44-24 win at Roseau Friday. Pike, Jared Nash and Drury won individual titles for the Panthers at Saturday's Thief River Falls Invitational.

Nevis made 16 of 20 3-pointers in an 83-42 win over the Park Rapids boys basketball team Thursday night. Detroit Lakes defeated the Panthers 80-39 in a Mid-State Conference game Friday night.

Park Rapids had a boys hockey game at Detroit Lakes and the Section 3A True Team boys swimming meet at Detroit Lakes postponed Saturday. Monday's girls basketball game between Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton and Park Rapids was also postponed.
