Panthers shut out W-DC, RLF

The Park Rapids-Menahga boys hockey team recorded back-to-back shutouts to improve to 12-5-1 on the season.

The Panthers held a 51-7 advantage in shots on goal in a 6-0 win at Wadena-Deer Creek Thursday night. Tucker Coborn had two goals and two assists to lead the way. On Saturday, Ryan O'Mara made 25 saves while Coborn, Kevin McMorrow and Ian Johnson had a goal and an assist each as the Panthers blanked Red Lake Falls 4-0.

Ben Baumgartner, Laine Jensen and Kenny Weaver had two pins each as the Park Rapids wrestling team defeated Crosby-Ironton 51-23 and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley/Nevis 55-19 Thursday night.

The Park Rapids-Menahga-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley girls hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision to International Falls Friday night and a 6-1 decision to Eveleth-Gilbert Saturday afternoon at Walker.

Detroit Lakes defeated the Park Rapids girls basketball team 61-41 in a Mid-State Conference game Friday night.
