Memorials set for two Grand Rapids men who drowned

Al Hermiston

Memorials will be held in Grand Rapids for Nathan Junker and Al Hermiston, who drowned Sunday after helping a boy on Pokegama Lake.

Though both were members of Faith Baptist Church, which was having a youth outing on the day of the drownings, due to space limitations the memorial will be held at the Assembly of God Church on 1585 E. U.S. Highway 169.

Hermiston's visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., and the funeral is Friday at 11:30 a.m. Junker's visitation is on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., and the funeral is on Saturday at 10 a.m.

A memorial fund has also been setup for Junker, who left behind a wife and four kids ranging in ages from 5 months to 6-years-old. Money can be given to The Nathan Junker Memorial Trust at any Wells Fargo bank.
