Minn. man killed in rollover crash near Medora

A Minnesota man was killed after injuries received in a rollover accident Friday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Leo Adelmann, 64, Belle Plain, Minn., was driving a 2000 Ford Taurus eastbound on Interstate 94 about 5 miles west of Medora, N.D. He was en route to Minnesota from Montana just before 5 p.m. Friday, the patrol said. It was raining at the time of the crash, the patrol said. Adelmann lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch. The vehicle rotated counter clockwise as it continued east through the ditch. It rolled one time and came to rest on its wheels.

Adelmann died at the scene, the patrol said.

His passenger, Sharon Adelmann, 62, Belle Plain, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson, N.D. where she was treated and released, the patrol said.

Both passengers were wearing seat belts.

The Taurus sustained $8,000 in damage.

The crash is still under investigation.
