I-94 dike removal in Moorhead starts tonight

Starting tonight, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will remove the temporary dikes north and south of Interstate 94 between Eighth Street and the Red River in Moorhead.

From 7:30 p.m. to 5:45 a.m. each night, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and the eastbound exit ramp and westbound entrance ramp at Eight Street will be closed. The lanes and ramps will be open to traffic during daytime hours.

The work is expected to wrap up Thursday morning, weather permitting.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation built the temporary dikes in March to protect I-94 and the community from flooding of the Red River.
