Park Rapids Airport selected Minnesota Airport of the Year

At the annual conference of MCOA (Minnesota Council of Airports) held at the St. Cloud Civic Center during the past week, the annual Governor's Award for the spotlighted Airport of the Year was presented to members of the City of Park Rapids and the Park Rapids Airport Commission.

The award reads: "FAA Governor's Award. Special Recognition for Excellence in Airport Planning, Development, Operations and Maintenance as well as promoting the Spirit of Aviation within the Community. The FAA and the Governor of Minnesota bestow this award upon the City of Park Rapids. April 16, 2009."

This award confirms that the airport is one of the city's most prestigious features. The Park Rapids airport's reputation for high quality aviation services and fine facilities serve year-round guests who pass through this gateway to resort country.

The airport also provides an annual income to the area of over $5 million dollars in commerce and business.
