K&J Auto Body opens on Highway 34 West
The Kruchowski family has teamed up to create a family owned and operated business for auto body restoration.
Auto body technician Mike Kruchowski brings 30 years' experience to the business. Josh Kruchowski, a dean's list student at his alma mater of Northland Technical College, has five years of know how in the industry.
A love of cars since childhood spurred Josh Kruchowski's career path. He sees his work as an art form.
"I don't like grease," he said, grinning. "I'm a dust monkey, not a grease monkey."
K&J Auto Body, located 1.5 miles west of Park Rapids on Highway 34, has state-of-the-art equipment to complete the work.
"We offer start to finish bodywork for cars involved in a collision," Josh Kruchowski explained. "From minor dings to major."
Estimates are free.
The shop has a four-tower frame rack for pulling and straightening vehicles as well as a high tech, down draft spray painting booth with heated airflow. Colors are matched to the existing hue. A car can be painted in 1.5 hours in the enclosure.
K&J Auto Body will work with any type of damage. "We do quality work," Josh Kruchoswski emphasized, "not quantity. We take it one vehicle at a time. It's done right before it leaves the door." That includes washing and cleaning the car.
Their motto: We take care of your vehicle as if it was our own.
Loaner vehicles are available while the work is being completed.
The business also offers "rebuilders" (refinished vehicles) for sale.
Plans call for the business to offer towing in the near future, as well as employment opportunities.
Storage units are also offered at the site.
An open house is in the planning stages for the near future.
K&J Auto Body is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
