James Fairbank, 86

James Fairbank, 86, of Park Rapids died Saturday July 5, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

He was born May 11, 1922 in Owatonna to Elmer and Grace (Miller) Fairbank. He attended high school at Verndale. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in World War II.

He married Marylyn Thue and they had three children before separating. He married Linda Thue in 1976 and they made their home in the Park Rapids area.

He worked as a building inspector in Minneapolis for many years.

Surviving are a son Kim (Debbie) of Waldorf, MD; a daughter, Beth (Jimmie) Anderson of Silverdale, WA; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; first wife, Marylyn; and wife, Linda on May 12, 2006.

Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids with Rev. Ken Nyhusmoen officiating.

The Marine Corps League will provide military honors.

Interment: At a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at Minneapolis.
