Karla Raye Hadrava, 53

Karla Raye Hadrava, 53, of Laporte died Friday, June 8, 2007 at North Country Re-gional Hospital in Bemidji.

She was born to Andrew and Amanda (Vogt) Tysver June 19, 1953 in Wadena. She moved several times, residing six years in Colorado Springs. She was active in Girl Scouts and was a candy striper volunteer in the children's ward at St. Francis Hospital. She became a con-firmed member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in May 1969.

She graduated from Wil-liam Mitchell High School in June 1971. She moved to Laporte with her parents, to own and work at Friendly Beach Resort. She also worked at the Walker Bak-ery and sold Avon.

She married James Had-rava Sept. 8, 1973. She cleaned cabins at various resorts for more than 20 years, as well as the Laporte Post Office.

She was very active at the Laporte School, in the Laporte PTO for more than 20 years and a member of the Laporte-Benedict Lioness Club. She was elected to the Laporte School Board and served as a member for more than 12 years, serving as chairperson and treasurer.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Dawn (Frank) Fairchild of Swan River and Beth of Laporte; sons, Ryan and John, both of Laporte; her mother of Laporte; sisters, Karen (Ed) Baker of Hoyt Lakes and Debbie (Terry) Hadrava of Laporte; brother, Bill (Marcia) of Laporte; three grandchildren and numer-ous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Wayne; and a niece.

Funeral: Tuesday, June 12 at the Laporte School with Rev. Warren Broughton offi-ciating.

Casketbearers: Jeremy, Jesse and Terry Hadrava, Louis Morthberg, Jeff Baker, Will Tysver, Lee Pemberton and Darin Kapphan.

Interment: Guthrie Ceme-tery.
