Hubbard County Fair opens Wednesday
The Hubbard County Fair — the five greatest days of summer — features a variety of entertainment at the grandstand arena, 4-H exhibits in the animal barns and a midway filled with games and carnival rides.
The 2018 fair, organized by the Shell Prairie Agriculture Association, will be held July 11-15 in Park Rapids.
Back by popular demand, motocross races kick off the grandstand attractions at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11. A bull ride is the main event at 7 p.m. Friday, July 13. The out-of-field and modified tractor pull begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 14. The ever-popular demo derby roars to life at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 15.
The 4-H Exhibit Hall hosts livestock, poultry, horses, rabbits, a dog show, 4-H vendors and open class exhibits.
And don't forget the fair food! Stop on over for cheese curds, corn dogs, fresh French fries, pork burgers, ice cream and other mouth-watering delicacies.
A youth and teen talent contest is a highlight of Thursday, July 12, as brave youngsters take the stage. A dart tournament will be held Thursday evening. Friday will be Senior Day. All are welcome to "Cowboy Church" 11 a.m. Sunday in the bandshell.
