Community invited to participate in Park Rapids Night to Unite

Members of the Hubbard-Wadena Emergency Response Unit explain to visitors some of the equipment they use during last year's Night to Unite. The annual event gives community members an opportunity to visit with local law enforcement and related agencies. (Enterprise file photo)

The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office will be hosting the annual Night to Unite on Tuesday, Aug. 1. The Sheriff's Office invites the local and surrounding communities to the festivities at Heartland Park, 5-7 p.m.

This is a great time for everyone to meet and interact with law enforcement officers from

the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office and the Park Rapids Police Department. Also present will be the members of local fire departments, Hubbard First Response, and North Memorial Ambulance. Included this year is a fly-in by Sanford Air Care Helicopter (weather and call volume permitting).

The Sheriff's Office will also include members of the Mounted Posse, Boat and Water

Patrol, Hubbard/Wadena ERU Team, ATV Patrol, K-9 Unit, Sentence to Serve, Corrections and Communications, among others.

Also included in the event will be a "drunk goggles" display, AirCare helicopter, and a K-9 demonstration.

A light meal will be offered free of charge. Sheriff Cory Aukes encourages everyone to

bring the family, get to know your local law enforcement officers, and have a lot of fun.
