Join toxic taters for tater talks
On Thursday, June 8, Toxic Taters is hosting an evening of short and informative talks for people who want to know more about what's happening to the water, air, soil, and health in rural communities.
Presenters from the Minnesota DNR, White Earth Public Works and local community members will all be part of the evening. Topics will include the Straight River Groundwater Management Plan, the Pine Point private well testing project, growing healthier potatoes and an introduction to the goals of the Toxic Taters organization.
The presentations and community discussion will be held at the Pine Point school (48075 Powwow Hwy) in Ponsford.
The event--which will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.--will include dinner and is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
"I'm excited for this event to take place," said Toxic Taters Communications Specialist Katie Deschene. "It's a great way to learn not only about Toxic Taters but other valuable issues in our communities."
Toxic Taters currently holds local meetings in Pine Point, Park Rapids and Wadena. For more information on how to get involved or to host an informational meeting in your community, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 218-375-2600
