One dead after officer-involved shooting in Alexandria
One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in downtown Alexandria Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., law enforcement was called to the 300 block of Irving Street for an unknown incident.According to the Alexandria Police Department, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) was conducting an undercover operation involving the solicitation of minors. Supporting agencies included the APD and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. During the operation, two BCA agents discharged their weapons. According to the APD, one subject was declared deceased at the scene. No officers were injured. At the request of the BCA, the St. Paul Police Department will conduct the official investigation of the officer-involved shooting.
Also at the scene was the Minnesota State Patrol.
