Park Rapids home damaged by fire

Fire struck a house just south of Park Rapids Thursday night, causing extensive damage to the structure.
The home, at the intersection of County Road 6 (Henrietta Avenue) and County Road 15, burned around 10 p.m. Thursday.
Park Rapids firefighters, under regular procedures, called for mutual aid from the Menahga Fire Department, but canceled that department’s help when it looked like the Park Rapids firefighters had it under control.
The cause is still under investigation. Twenty firefighters, two engines and several support vehicles responded.
The home is rented to Shaun Pike. Pike’s family had to find other accommodations Thursday night.
