Drought monitor: The very dry conditions continue
Fargo, ND (WDAY-TV) - The latest U.S. Drought Monitor is in, and much of the region continues to experience very dry conditions. Much of eastern North Dakota and Minnesota are in the Moderate Drought category, with the rest of the region experiencing abnormally dry conditions.
Because of the very dry conditions we've been experiencing, The National Interagency Fire Center has placed much of the region in an above normal risk of wildland fires during the month of April.
These very dry conditions will likely persist for quite some time. While there is a chance for rain and snow this Sunday and Monday, amounts are expected to be light. After Monday, we'll likely stay dry through at least the following weekend.
