Use your thumb to eliminate brain freeze

Brain freeze, the dreaded headache that comes from downing a cold drink or eating ice cream too quickly, is a common occurrence in the heat of summer, but there’s also an easy remedy.

The feeling of brain freeze is caused when the roof of your mouth gets too cold, so to fix it, warm it up.

If you have a warm or room-temperature drink handy, that might be the most polite way to stop the freeze. But the fastest, most readily available option is to put your thumb into your mouth (the same way a baby sucks his thumb) and press it to the roof of your mouth until your headache disappears.
