Letter: A service of comfort and hope
The holiday season can be a painful time for many. It may be the first experience without a loved family member or friend. It may be a time that is anxious – filled with memories of the past and/or fears for the future as reflected in the loss of a relationship, the loss of a job, the loss of health.
We need some space and time to acknowledge our sadness; we need to know that we are not alone. Please join us for an ecumenical service of Comfort & Hope at Riverside Church, Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. There will be time to light candles, pray, and meditate on Scripture texts. It will offer a message of hope and assurance of God’s presence with us in the midst of our own darkness.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Ps.41:1).
