Letter: Enbridge actions don’t match rhetoric

If only Enbridge’s actions matched its rhetoric.

Over and over you tell us “we learned our lesson from the Kalamazoo spill, we will do better.” Apparently not. Not in the Regina, Canada spill a few weeks ago nor the Grand Marsh, Wis. spill two years after Kalamazoo.

We hear promises of shut-off check valves at our stream crossings. Are those the same promises Enbridge made to folks along Line 9B in Ontario, Canada? The company promised 104 valves at water crossings on that route, then was reprimanded by Canada’s National Energy Board for only properly installing six shut-off valves.
