Mariena Dearstyne led the Park Rapids girls golf team with a 94.1 average in 10 18-hole rounds. Dearstyne was also the overall medalist in Northern Pines Conference play with a 46.0 average in four meets.

Tim Ranisate cuts up a large cottonwood at his house west of Park Rapids on Monday after Saturday’s storm. Tim was working in western North Dakota when his wife called to tell him the tree was down. Tim said the old cottonwood measured about 3 1/2 feet wide at the base. Heavy rain continued Monday in the Park Rapids area with residents reporting 5-6 inches on Monday and 10-14 inches total from Thursday to Monday.

Miranda Kowalke, 7, tends to “Daisy,” a Black Polish rabbit. This breed, also known as “Little Aristocrat,” is one of the smaller domestic rabbits.  As a Cloverbud, Miranda can bring three general projects and two animals to the county fair.
