Warm spring encourages an early start to bee season
Welcome back to the Beehive. What an exciting time of year to be a beekeeper. The warm temperatures these last few weeks have allowed me to open up my hives and get a good idea of their health. I have to say, I was very surprised.

HC Land Department explains spring planting of 300,000 pine seedlings
In the spring of each year the Hubbard County Natural Resource Management Department ensures that the future pineries will continue to provide the ecological, social and financial well being of our community. This year, that will be accomplished by planting approximately 300,000 Norway Pine seedlings on 386 acres of County Administered Lands.

4-H adult leaders receive award
Stan and Connie Preston were presented with a statewide Adult Leaders Award at the State 4-H Dog Show in St. Paul, for the time and energy they have put into the Hubbard County 4-H Dog Project. They have been instrumental in getting the agility program started and running the Hubbard County dog show, in addition to being leaders of the K-9 Companions 4-H dog club. Here they are pictured with 4-Hers (and dogs) who earned trips to the State Dog Show.
