Uffda! Days sets sail, providing fun for all in Nevis

Uffda! Days sets sail, providing fun for all in Nevis A merry band of actors took the stage, with a captivated audience seated on Main, to perform “A Farewell to Nortland,” at Nevis’ seventh annual celebration of Scandinavian heritage. The tale of marital woes and infidelity, inebriation and immigration had the audience chuckling. The cast included Jimmy Frank as Ole, Deb Stark as Lena, Dennis Aaron as Papa Gunnar, Russ Hensel as Sven, Jinx Zajaczkowski as Olga, Angi Trelstad as Marta and playwright Dan Schweich as Torval. Jerry Rivard served as narrator. The play began with Sven winding his way through the audience, waving an envelope with an aura of cheap perfume and/or dead fish and a picture of Inga. He shares the letter with Ole, who’s imbibing a beer and taking inventory of his fishing gear, and the two head off the stage, excited. At the play’s conclusion, the cast boards the boat to emigrate to “the new land,” with promise of more adventures ahead.
