Best of the best PressPass

The Park Rapids Area High School choir department will present their spring concert, “Best of the Best in Timeless Classics and Musical Theater,” in 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. performances Wednesday, May 16 in the auditorium. The cabaret-style show will feature the Concert Choir, Concert Choraliers, Chamber Singers, Rapid, Chamber men’s and women’s ensembles, solos and small groups. Choir alumni are encouraged and invited to join the current choir students on stage to sing “Seasons of Love.” The public is welcome.

Trees take root, thanks to Rotarians

Park Rapids will be sending more limbs skyward, thanks to a recent tree distribution sponsored by the Rotary and the city of Park Rapids. Two hundred-plus red maple, chokecherry, juneberry, red crab apple, red Norway and white spruce headed out the doors of city hall last week, accompanied by tree tubes to protect the seedlings from deer. Flagpole dedicated

After “15 months of planning and a lot of fundraising,” the flagpole was officially dedicated Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery in Nevis. The Uff Da! Days Organization purchased the pole at the request of local veterans. Members of the Marine Honor Guard arrived, Ray Vaadeland played taps and Autumn Rose Pendegayosh sang the “Star Spangled Banner.” The ground breaking was in mid-April, with area veterans, Uff da! Days members and other volunteers assisting.
