Sylvia Davis

Sylvia Olive Davis, 92, of Akeley, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

Sylvia was born Sept. 28, 1917 in Fosston, the daughter of Ingebret K. and Olive (Paasche) Kroken. She grew up and attended school in Bemidji where she graduated from high school in May of 1935.

She was united in marriage to Roy Davis May 1, 1937. She made her home in Bemidji and Park Rapids, also Oklahoma before retiring to Calimesa, Calif. The last four years she made her home with her grandson Robert L. Davis (Brenda) of Akeley.

She is survived by her grandsons, Bob (Brenda) Davis of Akeley, Anthony (Paula) Davis of Alexandria; granddaughter, Tammie Davis (Todd) Simisen of Detroit Lakes; as well as eight great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; seven step great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; son, Robert; two sisters and one brother.

No public funeral services will be planned at this time.
