The Minnesota State High School League 24A Sub-section One-Act Play competition is Saturday, Jan 23 at the Park Rapids High School Auditorium. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. with the first show performing at 9 a.m. There are six schools involved in sub-section: Frazee, Laporte, Menahga, Nevis, Park Rapids and Verndale. Performances are free and open to the public. First and second place advance to the Section 6A contest in Wadena Saturday, Jan. 30. Park Rapids will present “4 A.M.,” the hit play by Jonathan Dorf. Set during the “magic hour” of 4 a.m., an ensemble of teens search for human connection through a series of interlaced scenes and monologues at a time the rest of the world is typically asleep.
