Culpepper & Merriweather Circus coming to town

The Park Rapids Lions Club is sponsoring Culpepper & Merriweather Circus in 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. performances Tuesday, July 19 at the Hubbard County Fairgrounds.

This year the circus presents Skeeter as the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus advance clown. Skeeter will be in town Thursday, July 14 to visit schools, day cares, recreation centers, libraries and senior centers. She might be seen in stores, walking down Main street or handing out the official Culpepper & Merriweather Circus Coloring Contest sheets.

Between 9:30 and 10 a.m. watch the raising of the Big Top, then stay for the free tour. This presentation offers a unique face-to-face opportunity to meet and learn all about the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus family.

This includes a walking tour of the circus grounds to learn about performers, the history of the show and the species of animals in the circus family.

In this presentation, topics such as hygiene, grooming and the veterinary care all of the animals will be addressed.

On circus day, performers bring the magic of the circus to life in each 90-minute show. This year's lineup includes an all-star group of performers and entertainers that include Miss Simone and her amazing single trapeze, Miss Lana's Feathered Friends, Miss Paulina on the Web, the Arlise Troupe on their wild and crazy unicycles, Angel Perez with juggling, the Silverlake's sizzling whips, Karina and her hoola hoops, the Perez Russian Swing and the jungle cats.
