Upcoming events Nov. 21-26

Saturday, Nov. 21

-The Friendly Squares will host a square dance starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at Century School. The caller will be Lanny Weakland and Donna Stone will cue rounds. The event will start with a round dance workshop from 2 to 3 p.m., then a mainstream workshop from 3 to 4:30 p.m. At 5 p.m., the club will furnish a potluck dinner. From 6:30 to 7 p.m., there will be pre-rounds followed by mainstream square dancing from 7 to 9:30 p.m. All square dancers and spectators are welcome.

Sunday, Nov. 22

-Knights of Columbus will have turkey bingo at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Park Rapids.

-The community of Park Rapids and the surrounding area

are invited to attend the annual Community Thanksgiving service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at Faith Baptist Church. The pastors and congregations of the Park Rapids Ministerial Association will present a program of Thanksgiving with hymns, scripture, readings, special music and a time of offering. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. Faith Baptist is located on Highway 71 south.

Tuesday, Nov. 24

-A shoplifting prevention seminar will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24 at Northwoods Bank conference center. Park Rapids Police Chief Terry Eilers will present tips and tricks to prevent shoplifting. The seminar is free and includes handouts.

-The Heartland Concert Series continues with a performance by Tony DeSare at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24 at the Park Rapids Area High School auditorium. Admission is by season tickets only. For ticket information, contact Bobbi Zigmant at 732-9293 or Curt McCabe at 732-1036.

Wednesday, Nov. 25

-The Park Rapids All School Reunion will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the Park Rapids American Legion Club. For more information, call 732-0143.

Thursday, Nov. 26

-The 27th annual Community Thank Meal will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids. Home deliveries will begin at 10:15 a.m. Those who do not wish to spend Thanksgiving alone are invited to come for a turkey meal with all the trimmings. For home deliveries, call 237-8759.
