There’s something odd and wonderful about watching 150 kids participate in a tae kwon do tournament in Park Rapids. They’re very well behaved. They’re not running up and down the halls of Century Middle School screaming their heads off, misbehaving.

“We’ve heard that our kids are well-behaved,” acknowledged Master Nick Bretz. “We teach manners, discipline and morals.” But the Park Rapids school also instills confidence in each student as the March 15 tournament demonstrated. The tae kwon do school takes five-year-olds on a trial basis to start the learning process.
