The fifth annual Chili Challenge, sponsored by the Park Rapids Enterprise, was a resounding success. The event is a fundraiser for the Hubbard County Food Shelf during its March food drive. Above, Dacle Schmid, representing First English Lutheran Church of Dorset, sold out of his chili. At left, Theora Goodrich, representing Hubbard County Coalition of Lake Associations, made the People’s Choice award winning chili. COLA raised $2,954.25. March is the month to put fundraising into overdrive. Donations received by the food shelf in March are the basis for funding for the entire year through Minnesota FoodShare.
