Pop star Britney Spears books date in Grand Forks

The "Circus' is coming to Grand Forks and the ringmaster is one of the most buzzed about pop icons in America.

"The Circus Starring Britney Spears" pulls into the Alerus Center on Sept. 12.

The tour is one of the highest grossing so far of 2009 and is her first time on the road since 2004. The album "Circus" has sold 1.5 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The production, estimated to cost $50 million, uses 34 trucks and employs dancers, magicians, jug-glers, clowns and acrobats.

This is the singer's first concert in North Dakota. She played Minneapolis' Target Center in April.

Tickets for the show go on sale 10 a.m. June 27. Tickets rang from re-served seats for $39.50, $49.50 and $65 to center ring seats for $495.
