Dynamic classical pianist performing for Heartland series

Julia Lawrence Gargiulo brings his charm, humor and great virtuosity to Park Rapids on Saturday, March 11.

A classical pianist, Gargiulo performs the compositions of renowned masters with passion and precision. His performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Park Rapids Area High School auditorium is part of the Heartland Concert Association series.

Born and educated in Italy, Gargiulo has dual U.S. and Italian citizenship. He has studied at conservatories in Italy and Russia as well as the U.S. where he earned degrees from Peabody Conservatory and the University of Maryland. He is the founder and artistic director of the Water Island Music Festival in the Virgin Islands. He currently resides in New York City.

Gargiulo has performed throughout the world. His TV and radio appearances include major stations in many countries.

His program is varied and encompasses some familiar classical pieces like the De Falla's "Fire Dance," Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumble Bee" and Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude" as well as several of his own interesting pieces.

Gargiulo also provides a keyboard video so audience members can see his hands do their spectacular work.

Admission to the Heartland Concert series is by season membership ticket. Adult, student or family memberships are available. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
