Wylma Jean Andrus, 89, of Nevis, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

Wylma Jean Brower was born Sept. 10, 1924 in Doon, Iowa the daughter of William and Cecile (Swening) Brower. She grew up and attended school in Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Cliff Schoon in 1940 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. They lived in Nevis from 1947 until 1952 and Colorado Springs from 1952 until 1960. From 1960 until 1972 she lived in Aspen, Colo. and she lived in Smyrna, Tenn. from 1972 until 1984. She has been a resident of Nevis since 1984.

She was united in marriage to Dean M. Andrus Sept. 10, 2002 in Park Rapids.

She was a member of the Lakeside Church in Hubbard.

She loved cooking and entertaining for friends and family. She loved her husband Dean and the rest of her family. She also enjoyed traveling together with Dean.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Andrus of Nevis; children, Terry (Renee) Schoon of Hebersprings, Ark., Patti (Bill) Galletly of Oklahoma City, Okla., Larry (Reba) Schoon of Nevis, Bettie (Tony) Wilson of Rincon, Ga., Bob Andrus of Nevis, Bonnie (Ben) Miller of Placerville, Calif.; two sisters, Bonnie Getter, Mavis McMurray of Lakeforest, Calif.; brother, Jack Swenehart of Phoenix, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lana Stephen-son; two grandsons, Berry Ballentine and Todd Schoon; sisters, Gloria VanNyhuis, Beverly Preston and Shirley Withrock; brothers, Lauren Brower and Billy Brower.

Memorial service: 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids. Pastor Richard Jorgensen will officiate.

Visitation: one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Inurnment: Resthaven Cemetery in Nevis.

Her family suggests memorials may be given to Park Rapids Area Hospice.

Cease Family Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements. Friends may leave online condolences at
