Woman's body found by snowplow driver in Murray County after she abandoned stalled vehicle
SLAYTON -- A woman's body was discovered by a snowplow driver Monday morning, according to a press release from the Murray County Sheriff's Office.
The release, issued by Murray County Chief Deputy Randy Donahue, states a deceased female, 69-year-old Loa Jean Jenson of Garvin, was found around 10:49 a.m. by a man driving a township plow on 211th Street, just east of U.S. 59 near Lake Sarah.
During an on-scene investigation, deputies located Jensen's vehicle, a 1992 Chevrolet Suburban, which had run off the road near the intersection of 211th Street and 170th Avenue. It appears as though Jenson ran off the roadway due to weather and road conditions sometime Sunday evening or in the early morning hours Monday and had apparently attempted to walk toward U.S. 59.
No further information is available, the release states, pending results of an autopsy.
The Murray County Sheriff's Office was assisted by acting Murray County Coroner Dr. Carol Lang and Lake Sarah Township snowplow drivers.
