Emergency responders rescued a woman from her car that was stuck in high water at the underpass near Third Avenue West and Villard Street. No one was injured as an emergency worker entered the water shortly after 6 this afternoon. The underpass is known to flood after heavy rains, which Dickinson was hit with today.

Heavy rain and tornado warnings swept the area Monday afternoon and evening, leaving an underpass in Dickinson flooded and a motorist stranded.

The Third Avenue West underpass, which often floods during heavy rain, filled with at least two feet of water.

At about 5:45 p.m., before law enforcement lowered the gates prohibiting traffic from entering, a woman attempted to drive through the water and got stuck.
