WindoWorld headquarters moved to Hollinger
WindoWorld and Cheyenne Builders have moved headquarters to 1009 Hollinger Street, adding 2,500 square feet of offices to the existing building, with plans in the works for a 6,500-square-foot warehouse.
A Pella window distributorship prompted the additions. WindoWorld offers "mis-ordered" Pella windows, with the ability to order new windows to match.
Mis-ordered windows are new stock that's been returned due to an error in an order - made by the homeowner, salesperson or contractor, Barry Munson explained. Rather than warehouse them, the windows are sold at reduced prices to distributors such as WindoWorld.
Panes are no longer a pain in the pocketbook.
The windows are sold at 40 percent of retail, with homeowners given the option of ordering additional Pella or other name brand windows to match.
Doors and windows are the most expensive component in homebuilding and remodeling, Munson noted. "We can cut thousands from the cost," he said. "We don't shortchange windows. We recommend using high-end windows." But a $10,000 to $18,000 cost can be reduced by several thousand dollars at WindoWorld, without compromising quality.
When complete, the business' new building will feature 13,000 square feet, showcasing windows, doors and cabinets.
Doors, primarily exterior, are available in wood, steel and fiberglass.
Cabinets are also sold at a discount, with the customer given the option to order more.
The showroom at the new site offers a plethora of choices, triggering customer creativity. "Options are difficult to articulate," Munson said of the showroom. "People need to see the wood, the texture."
A jackpine beam overhead features "artwork" by a forest inhabitant. This is in contrast to the state-of-the-art technology that can be employed in the science of homebuilding.
Clients range from resort owners to contractors to do-it-yourselfers, Christine Munson said. WindoWorld staff will work with the client to find what the customer's looking for.
Plans call for posting the inventory online so customers can review before heading in to purchase. The Munsons intend to expand their market to a 100-mile radius.
Installation of products is available.
The Munsons invite customers to head in with a list of measurements.
The new location is also home to Cheyenne Builders, offering primarily new construction.
WindoWorld hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, soon to be open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
