We had a fantastic weekend for Mother's Day and for the fishing opener. Temperatures over the weekend were generally in the 70s with lots of sunshine. There even were some 80s across western Minnesota. The winds were light on Saturday, but for Sunday the winds were a bit breezy. Despite that, it really was nearly a perfect weekend to hit the lakes and to see mom!

Our great weather continued for the start of the week. Highs on Monday were in the 70s and 80s. Some locations in western Minnesota actually hit the lower 90s near Morris, Montevideo, and Madison. It felt more like summer all across the state.

On Sunday, I was tempted to go swimming. The water temperature in the Willmar area was in the lower 60s and it actually felt pretty nice. With temperatures in the 80s and even the 90s in some spots, it won't be very long until many around the state will be swimming. I saw some people water-skiing and jet skiing on Sunday as well. This is quite a year!

We will see a change coming our way by Wednesday night into Thursday, however, as we will have a chance of shower and thunderstorms across the area. Another round of showers is possible for Saturday. It doesn't look like this coming weekend will be as nice as last weekend, but it will be hard to beat that one...

Have a great week!
