Warm weather will blow away toward mid-week
Say goodbye to the hot weather and get ready for cooler temperatures this week, thanks to chilly air from Canada.
After weekend highs in the 80s, today's high will be about 69 degrees and breezy, according to the National Weather Service.
The thermometer will bounce back up Tuesday, with a high of 77 and gusts up to 29 mph.
Then the weather should take a decisive turn on Wednesday, with a high of 60 and a good chance of rain amounts ranging from a tenth of an inch to a quarter inch in most places, with isolated areas of half an inch possible.
Highs for the rest of the week will range from near 47 degrees Friday to near 51 Sunday, with lows hovering around freezing.
Cooler weather is expected to prevail for the next week or two. The weather will seem cold compared to recent summer conditions but should be near normal for October.
"For the next couple of weeks it should be like fall," said Tom Grafenauer, a weather service meteorologist in Grand Forks.
