Wanda Mary Pritchett, 82, of Park Rapids died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 from injuries in an automobile accident near Bemidji.
She was born Feb. 13, 1924 to Fred and Della (Schlicht) Geidel near Olivet, SD. She attended country school near her home. In the early 1940s, she moved with her family to Park Rapids where she attended Park Rapids High School. She worked as a waitress.
She married Dean F. Pritchett July 13, 1944 in Park Rapids. They moved to Seattle where she helped with the war effort working in the shipyards as a welder. Following the war, they returned to Park Rapids.
She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids and a former member of Little Mantrap Sportsman Club and the Wagoneers Snowmobile Club.
She is survived by a son, Rick (life partner Neil Barrett) of Minneapolis; sister, Carollyn Dennis of Park Rapids; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sonja Cheryl who died at birth, and Linda who died in the accident with her Sunday; her parents; husband in 1992; and two sisters, Thelma Oines and Marilynn McAllister.
Funeral: Friday, Sept. 1 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids with Rev. Don Bird officiating.
Casketbearers: Ronald Oines, Terry McAllister, Robert Wattenhoffer, Gerry and Greg Dennis and Thomas Holman.
Interment: Greenwood Cemetery.
