Charges filed against family friend in kidnapping, murder of 5-year-old

Wadena man recovering after snowmobile accident

A Wadena man was injured in a high-speed snowmobile crash Saturday, Feb. 27, but the injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Jason Rodney Kempe, 27, was driving a snowmobile on a trail in Hobart Township in Otter Tail County when his sled went airborne while going downhill and rolled several times, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said.

Kempe was taken to Perham Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

His 1996 Ski-Doo 500 was badly damaged in the accident.
