A total of nine burglaries have been cleared up, according to Wadena County Sheriff Michael D. Carr.

A search warrant was executed by his office on Thursday, July 14 in Section 29 of Paddock Township in Otter Tail County in which one suspect, Cody Bennett Brostrom, 20, of Sebeka, was arrested without incident. Firearms and other items from these burglaries were recovered at his residence.

At the same time, at a residence in Wadena County, a second suspect, Nathan Dean Delano Horton, 20, of Menahga, was arrested without incident. Firearms, jewelry, and other items were also recovered by sheriff's deputies at his residence.

Approximately $4,400 worth of stolen items have been recovered.

"It is nice to bring closure for the victims of these burglaries," Carr said.

The sheriff credited his deputies and investigator with endless and persistent hours of hard work to solve these cases. The two suspects had their first court appearance on Friday, July 15 and have been charged by Wadena County Attorney Kyra Ladd with nine counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of theft of a firearm and one count of receiving stolen property.

Carr thanked the public with the many leads called into his office over these last couple of months and he reminded Wadena County residents to stay vigilant to any suspicious activity.

The Wadena County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office.
