The motion said Ladd could proceed with resolving the investigation of Joel Walsvik "that contemplates the resolution of said criminal case, also companion case with a separation agreement from the county on the employment side."

The transfer station was temporarily closed down in March when Walsvik was placed on paid leave and Scott Carpenter, department director, was placed on unpaid leave.

Last week's closed meeting was one of several that have taken place since then regarding allegations or charges in a criminal matter against county employees.

County officials present at the closed meeting were commissioners Lane Waldahl, Ralph Miller, Rodney Bounds and Chairman Dave Schermerhorn; Auditor/Treasurer Char West; County Attorney Kyra Ladd; Sheriff Mike Carr; Chief Deputy Bill Cross; and Consultant Mike Gibson.
